A team of international cyclists has arrived in Marrakesh ahead of Ride Morocco, a unique three-day, 400-kilometer cycling challenge organized by Muntada Aid*to raise funds for humanitarian and medical projects across Gaza, Sudan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
The event, which officially begins this Friday, combines endurance, empathy, and solidarity uniting participants from around the world in a powerful demonstration of compassion through sport. Over the course of three days, the cyclists will journey from the ancient medina of Marrakesh through Morocco’s breathtaking landscapes to the Atlantic coastlines of Essaouira and Agadir.
Throughout the ride, participants will face long distances, desert heat, and steep climbs all in solidarity with children awaiting critical heart surgeries and families affected by conflict and poverty.
“Ride Morocco is more than a challenge; it’s a journey of humanity,” said Naif Sheikh, CEO of Muntada Aid. “Every pedal stroke is a symbol of solidarity with children fighting for their lives and families enduring unimaginable hardship.”
The initiative highlights the growing power of sports as a catalyst for positive change, bridging communities and inspiring global action. The funds raised through Ride Morocco will directly support Muntada Aid’s Little Hearts Project, which provides life-saving cardiac surgeries for children in need, as well as emergency relief efforts in conflict-affected regions.
The event also offers journalists and media professionals an opportunity to meet participants in Marrakesh or along the cycling route, document the journey, and share stories of courage, community, and resilience.
As the cyclists prepare to depart, their message resonates beyond Morocco’s borders a message of hope, compassion, and the belief that every act of endurance can become an act of humanity.
